I find myself torn by this book. There is a plot and it is straightforward and not hidden. To say it is a simple plot is not an understatement. It does take the first 70 - 80% of the book to get to the meat of it. The pace is steady but oh so slow - yet the narrative style does pull a person in as Sully's view of Jules slowly changes over the years.
While the writing style is fine, the character development is mediocre, and there is little world-building. I was left at the end going "It is an okay story, but what was the point? " 3.5/5
I will not be chasing down any other books by this author.… (más)
