Left and Right is a difficult concept for very young children to learn. They usually must learn the concept first and then they will easily forget the concept unless it is repeated and reviewed until it is mastered. Although the book has beautiful pictures, the authors tried to make it challenging and sometimes a child might be confused by the ambiguity presented. For example, in one of the pages the text asks the reader to identify where the green leaf is, unfortunately there are many green leaves in the picture and it is confusing. On page 10, the text states, "Alison has a pink hair tie" when in fact the hair tie is "red". The inaccuracy is disturbing because children at this age are just learning colors. The wording on the book makes it sound like a continous test, and this affects how enjoyable the book may be to a child. For example, the text constantly asks the reader, " Is the object on the right or on the left?"
