Ryan “Reaper” Hamilton and his wife Kate first appeared in the Kate Hamilton trilogy, which I have listened to and enjoyed several times, so I pre-ordered Fear the Reaper as soon as I saw it. When it arrived, I finished it in a single day. And I expect to listen to it again very soon.
The trilogy is written from Kate’s point of view during a highly traumatic period some months before the start of Fear the Reaper which focuses more on Reaper’s work with Iniquus. There are many apparently disparate threads in this story. They are skilfully bound into an explosive finale.
As always with Fiona Quinn the characters are well rounded with their own individual quirks and passions. A number of characters from previous books in the series make minor appearances here. I personally enjoy knowing their previous back-story, but I don’t think it is essential as far as enjoying this book goes. I would, though, strongly recommend reading/listening to the Kate Hamilton trilogy first.… (más)
