Opposites attract when Robert and Linda meet through mutual friends. Robert is the serious, by-the-rules scientist, and Linda is fun and flirty. Linda's always teasing the good-looking, nerdy professor, but he shakes things up when he turns the tables on her. A hilarious "courtship" of sorts follows, with lots of sexual tension and innuendos mixed in with 15-month-old quadruplets and a pair of romantic chimpanzees.... It's a funny, flirty read with a few serious moments thrown in for good measure. The chemistry between Robert and Linda sizzles, and you will never believe what they have to go through to finally get to their first kiss! After the worst date ever, Alice goes home, gets slightly drunk on half a beer, and decides she needs to talk to someone. Fortunately for her, she has a key to her older brother's best friend's house. Gabriel is awakened in the middle of the night with his best friend's kid sister ranting about how men are scum. When she comes up with a plan to multi-date (dating 1 guy for each letter of the alphabet), Gabriel decides she needs some self-defense training. The more time they spend together, the more Alice is convinced she wants her dating alphabet to end with G for Gabriel. Convincing Gabriel's going to take a lot of time and careful planning. Luckily for us, Alice is up to the challenge....

This was a quick read. (I read it in one sitting.) It's very fast-paced and lots of fun! Gabriel and Alice have grown up together, and she worries he still sees a 5-year old girl when he looks at her. As well as she knows him, he's hiding some secrets of his own, and she has to figure out these mysteries before she can convince him they're perfect together. Add in Gabriel tagging along on one of her blind dates, Alice becoming his "volunteer" at a self-defense class to protect him from a room-full of eager college girls, a run-down house in need of repairs, and a protective older brother, and you have a fun and exciting contemporary romance. Although it would benefit from the character development and details a longer novel usually provide, what's here is light and enjoyable. A fun read!
