Review of: The (updated) Last Whole Earth Catalog: access to tools [16th Edition | June, 1975 issue]

The original Last Whole Earth Catalog (see my other review) was put together between 1968 & 1971. The first major update was run in 1973 by Pam Cokeley, with the results appearing in the subsequent 13th, 14th, and 15th editions.
This 16th edition contains a totally new update from the previous runs. It also has a new cover. For those who spotted it; yes, the Earth has rotated around 3°. The crescent is also slightly tighter than before, showing more of the shadow. It's like a whole new photo, Man!

More importantly:

A combined index to both the Catalog and Epilog, making them truly part of a two volume set.

Bonus article: How to build a wind generator from recycled materials and 'off the shelf' components.

Most of the items reviewed have remained, including any out-of-print books etc. The logic being that most of them could still be sourced from your local library even if no longer able to be purchased direct.

I no longer own this wonderful book. It's time has come again; environmentalism and self-sufficiency are back on the front burner of our cultural stove.
