Oh poor Chloe--her predicament is not having enough people to buy presents for. Chloe has solved other mysteries that made longer, livelier novels, with the help of her friend, a police detective. Their slow-building relationship is part of the charm of the series. This is a holiday story and the emphasis is definitely on "cozy" more than mystery. That's what some readers will hate, but for those who want cozy charm more than action and adventure, this short novel, featuring a grandmother, a small-town bakery, a cat, and a dog, is an excellent choice.… (más)

A History of Murder: Jericho Falls Cozy Mysteries, Book 1, my first read from author Brook Peterson, grabbed me and kept me reading until I finished it in one sitting. “I received a free Kindle copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review." The gifting of this book did not affect my opinion of it. I look forward to reading more from this author and in particular A Collection of Secrets: Jericho Falls Cozy Mysteries, Book 2, the next book in this series.
