I never had a pet skunk, but reading this book made me a fan. At seven, I asked for one as a birthday gift and was told I could have one if I'd wait until I was fourteen. I silently kept my wish until then and was so disappointed when my parents still didn't think it seemed practical after so long. It was a big surprise that I'd remembered! I'll always remember this book because I was smitten by the pictures and coveted the sensible advice it gave to wannabe owners.
