I don't know what stood out to me in selecting this book to read. I don't...camp. At all. I've gone maybe a handful of times in my life? Whether it was the cover art or the description, I wanted to read it. This field guide made me want to go camping too. This book was an uncorrected digital arc that I received for the purpose of reviewing. The art is just so stunning. I couldn't get over it. Honestly most of the park illustrations would make a great hipstery tattoo (not in a bad way). The history sections were brief but intriguing. I don't mind that part being so brief because it was concise (but very interesting)! I think I missed being able to see the actual park images on the pages. This book really covers their bases in a way that only extremely well-prepared people or people with anxiety would. I really appreciated that there was an entire section to keeping your dog safe while camping. One of the only times I've been camping was with my dog and some of our friends and it was very stressful. I think beyond the casual and enthusiastic campers, this would be a great book for preppers to read… (más)
