I'm 71-year-old nondenominational Christian woman who has found that change is a guarantee to happen at some point or another in one's life. Because of this, we tend to be frightened and become apprehensive since we sense that we're no longer in control of our lives. However, since we're Christians, there is good news afoot, and that news is that our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, has a plan fraught with optimism, affluence, and potential for our lives. And the only thing we are obligated to do is place our faith in the Lord explicitly and allow ourselves to become more like our Lord as the change in ourselves continues to grow.

Since we possess a profound love for our Lord and obediently follow His commandments, we've been promised that these changes will work together for our good. We are or should be aware that the Lord's presence will always be with us, at our side, as we continue on our life-changing journey.

One verse that exemplifies this change is found in ECCLESIASTES 3:1 [NKJV] that reminds us:

"To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven:"

And that the Lord, according to HEBREWS 13:8 [NKJV], is:
"Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever."

As for the changes regarding ourselves, we've been made assured, according to JEREMIAH 29:11 [NLT], of the following:

"For I know the plans I have for you," says the LORD. "They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope."

I believe the best thing for us as Christians need to do now that we know that change is inevitable is to acquire a profounder relationship with God. And one of the ways to accomplish this goal is through us getting into the habit of praying to the Lord. For those who have never prayed to Him you would need a little guidance, which is what Kimberley Payne has done in her brief yet empowering devotional book by sharing her experiences. Praying to the Lord is a life-changing experience, especially for those who have never done it before.
Change is inevitable for prior to my being inspired to publish my first two Christian books after reviewing scores of Christian books, followed by my writing my Christian blog, I had been a secular individual who seldom if ever prayed to the Lord. Now it’s a habit each morning when I rise, and each night when I go to bed. For wanting to assist others in the function of praying, I’ve given Ms. Payne 5 STARS.

A series of devotionals on prayer. I think the author has some good things to say about the subject.

TOOTH FOR TOOTH by Kimberley Payne is a heart wrenching look at a parent’s worst nightmare. This novel deals with the very sensitive issue of child sexual abuse and one woman’s personal struggle when her young daughter discloses her victimization at the hand of her own ‘daddy’. The subject is certainly not light reading, yet Payne manages to keep the story moving forward through the various stages of emotional turmoil, as well as the bureaucratic struggles that ensue. The overarching theme of the book is forgiveness, and through divine intervention, Heather, the main character in the book, finally reaches a point where she is able to forgive her ex-husband. Sprinkled through out the book are tidbits of romance, but this aspect of the story is understandably underdeveloped next to the weightier issues. It is a well written story worth the read.… (más)

Fit for Faith is a book whose time has come and one which is sure to become a must have for anyone who has ever thought of embarking on a change of lifestyle and not known where to start, or more importantly, how to undertake it successfully and in an orderly manner.
In her remarkable how-to book, Kimberley Payne has detailed a seven week step-by-step, holistic programme encompassing diet, exercise and faith in God divided in two parts along with appendices of exercises and tips. The first section sets out a detailed healthy lifestyle programme – a variety of exercises, their frequency and duration; food and drink choices and suggested eating strategies for best results. Great emphasis is placed on the importance of invoking God’s guidance and help throughout, noting that man does not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.
The second section is a 49 day workbook, bookended with a prayer at the start of each day and a relevant verse of scripture to close. The recordings of the exercises undertaken, healthy food choices and a point for reflection, seemed designed to be the person’s accountability partner, not leaving any room for exclusion of the day’s routine.
Payne is no doubt passionate that every person who reads her book and takes up its challenge will come away spiritually and physically healthier and to this end she has included in a handy easy to follow manual, all that is necessary to achieve these goals.
If there are books you must have at all times, this is sure to be one of them, not as a casual read but as a guide to achieving spiritual and physical well being and a ready reckoner for maintenance at the end of the seven week programme.
