Sobre El Autor

Ricardo Pau-Llosa was born in Cuba in 1954 and grew up in the United States; he lives in Miami. He writes poetry and short fiction. Pau-Llosas previous books explored the personalization of collective history as the basis of memory, the role of imagination in the fusion of past and present, the mostrar más continuous dialogue between the public and private workings of the creative process, the erotics of power in all its forms, and the link between epic and parables and other narratives of personal transcendence. Pau-Llosa is also an accomplished art critic and curator. mostrar menos

66. Cuba: Poems by Ricardo Pau-Llosa (1993, 108 pages, read Sep 21 - Dec 11)

I never did figure out how to read this. There are many interesting things said on many different aspects of the world of Cuban exile, and it was touching. But I never got the poetry part of it. I kept wanting Pau-Llosa to write an essay clearly setting out his thinking, instead the poem I was reading.
