Being a diary of the season wherein Yeovil Town gained promotion into the Football League for the first time in its century-plus of existence. This isn't much of a book. Seasonal diaries gain their piquancy by having some misfortune, or at least suspense, to grab the reader. Nothing at all went wrong for Yeovil this season, and, as for suspense, the blurb killed it, and, if I hadn't read the blurb, the front matter did, and if I hadn't read the front matter, the first photo caption would have. The author does have a few little personal travails to lend a little spice (a few weeks out of a job and a back problem), but overall, this is merely an exercise in smug triumphalism.
