This book explains how an assembly language program can replace combinatorial logic.

In digital circuit theory, combinatorial logic is a type of logic circuit whose output is a pure function of the present input only. This is in contrast to sequential logic, in which the output depends not only on the present input but also on the history of the input. In other words, sequential logic has memory while combinatorial logic does not.

If you are a logic designer, this book will teach you how to do your old job in a new way by creating assembly language programs.

If you are a programmer, this book will show you how programming has found a new purpose, namely, logic design.

Being a "how-to" book, the Z80 is referenced directly throughout.

One of the authors, Gordon Eubanks, was the creator of CBASIC. His expertise makes this manual the definitive reference on the CBASIC language.

CBASIC is a compiled version of the BASIC programming language written for the CP/M operating system by Gordon Eubanks in 1976–77. Like Pascal, CBASIC requires no line numbers, lending itself to structured, modular programming.

Microsoft QuickBASIC followed in this tradition, also lending itself to numberless, structured, modular programming on IBM-compatible personal computers.… (más)
