The Boy in the Moon is a myth about there being a man in the moon. It is an adventure that the man in the moon sends the boy in the moon on to find another moon which is just his own reflection in water. The boy in the moon goes through many scenerios on his way to the reflection but when he finally arrives at the reflection in the water he finds a mirror at the bottom of the harbor and brings it back to the man in the moon who is pleased with the boy.

This was an old book, but I liked the way the author used his imagination to create the thought of you actually taking the trip with the boy in the moon to find the reflection of the man in the moon. As a child I always heard of the man in the moon, especially if there was a full moon and so this book brought back memories of days when I wondered if there was really a man in the moon.

This book would be great to help children create their tall tale of something they wonder about. It could be read when learning about the sun and the moon to create discussion and just to make the lesson fun.
