{My thoughts} – BabyLit has found a new way to introduce babies and toddlers to the classics. I have been wanting to get these books for my girls for quite some time. I decided to finally buy some and see what I thought. I picked my favorite classical stories and ordered them on thriftbooks.

The Wonderful Wizard of Oz is a wonderful introduction to the classic Wizard of Oz story. This particular book is to help introduce your child to the characters of The Wizard of Oz and help to teach them some colors.

The cover is Bright Yellow and blue and holds true to what you’d think of when thinking of The Wizard of Oz. It also has the main characters the Scarcrow, the Tinman, the Lian, Totto and of course Dorothy.

When you open up the book you see the name of a color and then things that correspond with that color on the next to pages. The colors are nice and easy to distinguish between other colors within the book. The illustrations are incredibly well done. They go hand and hand with what you’d expect to see within a book about The Wizard of Oz.

When I’d read this book with my daughter we started by pointing out the Title, the characters on the cover and then the first color in the book. I’d then point to each of the objects on the pages and tell her what they were. She listened as well as you’d expect for a one year-old. I think this is a wonderful way for a child to learn word and object association.

This is a wonderful book and I am confident that any parent will fall in love with it as much as I have.

The Secret Garden: A Flowers Primer by Jennifer Adams & Alison Oliver (illus.) is part of the newer series of board books called BabyLit books. I picked it up to share with my niece but I think I ended up liking it more!

I really love this board book. It introduces the baby/toddler to different types of flowers and used quotes from the book to talk about them. The colors are vivid, the pictures engaging, and the amount of text just right so the child doesn't get bored.

It's a great introduction to flowers and nature for babies/toddlers.… (más)
