Incredible photographs and commentary. Of all the photos in here my favorite is "A Spirit They Saw": a really minimalist costume, red and white, featureless, draped over a man standing like an unlit candle. In the hands of another photographer this might have been a coffee table book of third world couture but this seems to be a labor of reciprocity and mutual interest. Obsessed by societies where the supernatural, superstitious and paranormal figures in as a matter of fact not fantasy, and I think it's cool that she approaches these belief systems without condescension or a kind of detached anthropological curiosity.
