Written by Booth's great grandson thrice removed this book gives an alternate narrative to the death (or not) of Booth and of his affiliations with the secretive Knights of the Golden Circle which was a masonic (like?) organization which advocated the division of the United States and a new country formed in the South and around the Gulf of Mexico.

According to the family history Booth survived and was smuggled out of the country to Asia where he continued to live in misery for many years before returning to die in Oklahoma.

At the least it is a well written/researched work that contains interesting history concerning Booth's family, pictures, what they did after the war, etc...as well as giving an alternate take on the actions of Vice President Johnson and Secretary of war Stanton upon the end of the war.
