Clark Norton

This was a great book - I used it a lot on trips to California with my children and would recommend it to adults as well. It lists a lot of offbeat sites that less eccentric guidebooks might miss. For instance, we were directed to the Old Faithful geyser right outside Napa which obliged us by erupting in a very satisfactory manner every 15 minutes and to the petrified forest nearby which is famous for having been praised in very faint terms by Robert Louis Stevenson (but was nonetheless memorable). I did eventually part with this book, but only because I really need the room on my bookshelf and with my kids grown and scattered afar, I won't be planning California vacations with children in the foreseeable future.… (más)
