I feel rather ungenerous, giving this follow up novella only 3 stars, as I really did enjoy it, yet not enough to award a higher rating. The writing style was excellent, as before, and being already familiar with the characters, I was expecting another delightful, if slightly quirky, read.

After I read the last page, I was left thinking 'Is that it?' I wondered if there was another 'onesie' book, in the writing or planning stages, which would tie up all the loose ends, because it seemed to me to end abruptly.

I loved that Phoebe popped up unexpectedly, and seemed to have no idea who Ella was, except that she that she knew she had been acquainted her at some time. Previously Phoebe came across as aloof and scathing, but this time she is warm and ditsy.

Sam, who was not told about the history or the offerings to the Stream of Life in the first book, suddenly behaves strangely after a glass of water and later gives Ella an offering for the stream. none of this is not explained, even though Ella muses on it a while.

Hal turns up in the chapter entitled 'Party' and seems to have had a complete change of personality. I felt this was a cover, and I would soon be reading how he had another scheme to get his hands on the spring water. And the character Hilary, seemed a pointless addition... unless there was another book in the series...

Having enjoyed 'Blame it on the Onesie' so much, I was a little disappointed that this follow-up novella left me with more questions than answers. Here's hoping for one more onesie!

I started reading 'Blame it on the Onesie' on 4th January finished it 3 days later. I did not want to put it down. I thought it was entertaining, funny and well written. The characters were totally believable. Ella's work situation rang true and the humorous way she dealt with it made me smile. The 'Spring of Life' plot was a little strange, but did not detract from my overall enjoyment of the story. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys a romantic comedy.

The story continues in ‘A Onesie is not just for Christmas’ which I am just about to start as I’m dying to know if Hal gets his comeuppance.
