This story is a different version of the classic Cinderella story. Instead of the main character being a girl with evil step sisters, the main character is a boy, Joe, who has three mean step brothers. Instead of a ball, the party invitation is to a fiesta. Like the classic Cinderella, Joe is forced to do all of the chores around the ranch where he lives. Like the fairy godmother to Cinderella, Joe had a fairy godfella. Then she tried to talk to one of the gods and persuaded him to help her out by having it rain at night so the turtles would not be in her bed. Then she started slowly to put parts of herself back into the sky at a time so she could keep her bed empty and away from the turtles that kept her from getting a good nights sleep. After that the turtles never came back to er bed and she was able to get a good nights sleep after all.… (más)

Joe's from a divorced family. Step siblings get invited to a party. Joe is not welcome to the party and he's upset because Roasalina (his crush) will be there. Rosalina is the richest rancher in the area. This book is basically a spin off of Cinderella, more man-based. The book's setting is on a ranch, Joe Cinders leaves his "red boot" behind and Rosalina finds him.
