Uber detailed memoir of 25 years in the secondhand book business - by a doyen of the trade, Paul Minet. Generally of interest, with good anecdotes and recounting the financial difficulties of dealing in secondhand books, particularly with a retail outlet. However, biographical career details of dozens of other trade colleagues went far beyond my own interest level - this book would be understood to a different degree by those who worked with Paul Minet, in the 1950s to the 1970s, in much the same way that books by Alexander McCall Smith (44 Scotland Street) and Paul Johnston (the Quint Dalrymple series) can be appreciated best by those who live in or have a good knowledge of Edinburgh.… (más)
