It is a good book. The Doctor and Amy land in 2010 New York, where a newly discovered mammoth in the Natural History Museum comes to life and starts causing chaos - but turns out to have much more dangerous secret; and an army of Vykoids brings chaos to Manhattan even if they are only seven centimentres tall.

Like my previous Doctor Who book as I was reading it was like watching an episode in my head. I loved how Amy’s cheeky side comes out in this book. In a couple of chapters the Doctor is out of action and Amy takes the lead which I thought was great! I have to say Brian Minchin did a great job on this book!… (más)

Very enjoyable audio adventure in that weird space post-season 2 and pre-Children of Earth. It was fun and exciting with solid writing from Brian Minchin and Gareth David-Lloyd does a good job with the narration. I was even pleasantly surprised by his impersonation of Jack.

This is all Torchwood dealing with a Torchwood problem as well as Torchwood can, and it would've worked great as an episode if there were an extra season before Children of Earth. The last line hits pretty hard, and left me grinning at the end of the production. I'm very impressed and I would definitely recommend this for any fans of the show.… (más)

This was the first Doctor Who book that I read and I really enjoyed myself. While I couldn't imagine it being an actual episode of the show, I did like the story telling and the interactions between the characters. Amy is my favorite companion and the Eleventh Doctor will forever be my Doctor so I plan to keep this book on my shelf for a long while!

An Eleventh Doctor and Amy Pond book set during the Long Night.

It's a fun book, with a nice line in good ridiculous and some wonderful descriptions. There's a wonderful bit at the beginning of the book that makes New York seem as alien and awesome as a completely different world. I thought the ending was a bit rushed, but that might just be me.

But the real stars are the Vykoids, who are just the most glorious, impossible-to-do-on-TV (or impossible to do well) villains. They're just ... listen, I know they're actually horrible and mean but I too am short so I am taking notes. They're just so well done.

In terms of continuity, there's a nice call back to the Daleks of Manhattan, and a wonderfully sinister reference to Nile penguins.

A good, fun romp.
