- Steve Miller is a science fiction writer, editor, publisher, fan, librarian, and computer guy. A 1973 alumnus of Clarion West, he was Founding Curator of SF for the UMBC SF Research Collection, and has been active in science fiction fandom since the late 60s when a series of book reviews and articles for in Texas publications convinced people the Maryland resident was an Aggie. A longtime part of the SF community, Steve's work as a fan included pubbing his own zine, concom work on BaltiCon, Artkane, and other Eastern regional conventions, and acting as Vice Chair of the Baltimore in 80 WorldCon bid. Steve has attended well over two hundred conventions in the US as fan and pro including more than a dozen Guest of Honor appearances from coast to coast and many dozen panel appearances.
His first pro fiction sales were to Ted White at Amazing in the 1970s. More recently, he's co-author (with wife Sharon Lee) of the award-winning Liaden Universe(R) series as well as other novels and short stories. In the late 80's Steve started BPLAN Virtuals, an early ebook company known for Disk-Top Publishing; over the years his work has appeared in e-format through Embiid and Baen Webscriptions while Baen, Ace, Del Rey, and others have been the paper publishers.
Steve was also founder and publisher of SRM Publisher Ltd, a small press based in Maine, which produced dozens of genre and genre-related titles since 1995 and 2011. PinbeamBooks.com, an ebook publisher, takes up his nonwriting time these days. (From his Amazon page)

After the horrific ending of the last book, Aelliana is placed in the hands of the Healers who bring her back to full health and even work on removing some of the past trauma scars. It is discovered that she and Daav are meant to be lifemates, but Aelliana has been so damaged from the abuse that she suffered at the hands of her family that she needs to work on herself first. This book shows how she grows from a timid, fearful girl into a strong, confident woman capable of piloting a space ship. I loved this couple and how they allowed their connection to grow naturally.
This is a difficult review to write without spoilers but overall this was a much slower moving book that others in the series as there wasn’t a lot of action. I did enjoy the setting of this one and learning a lot more about the manners and expected behavior of Liadens. Mouse and Dragon had some very moving scenes, and I look forward to continuing with the intricate plots and colorful characters.… (más)
