Colin Meloy was born in Helena, Montana on October 5, 1974. He graduated from the creative writing program at the University of Montana in Missoula in 1998. He became the singer and songwriter for the band the Decemberists. In 2004, he wrote a 100-page book on The Replacements' third album, Let It mostrar más Be. Your adolescence is not that unique or interesting. It's certainly much less unique and interesting than this album, which plays a fairly minor part in this boring memoir.
Brightly illustrated rhyming poem about a family who cannot fall asleep due to mysterious circumstances. Hilarious illustrations and verse. Middle elementary level, some extremely high vocabulary for rhyming sake(chintz?).
Mostly, I thought it was too long, but I also thought it was too twee and derivative. I listened to the audiobook narrated by Amanda Plummer and I thought she was purposely trying to put the emphasis in weird places in sentences, which just compounded my annoyance with the book overall.
Wildwood gets two stars instead of just one because it's serviceable. If a kid really wanted a long fantasy similar to C.S. Lewis, I wouldn't tell him NOT to read this.
