Joseph McVeigh

Father Joe McVeigh takes a look at the Catholic Church in Irish history from a liberation theological perspective. He questions the Church's relationship with Rome, with the common people, with the establishment, and with our closest neighbour and occupier of our country, England. He suggests that the Irish Church has left its traditional roots and wedded itself to power. He also suggests a role for the Church in a changing Ireland, using the Church in south America as an example.
