Wonderfully illustrated and whimsical! A day in the life of Ivy, but using language likened to a bird’s day. It’s fun and deceptively educational. My favorite part of this book is the very end. Why? Because it tells you just a couple facts about each bird seen throughout the story. I look forward to reading this story many times with my grandchild.

Excellent book describing the time Tania McCartney and her family spent four years in Beijing. She creates splendid word pictures of her experiences and observations, from snow falling to troubles with their 'Ayi' (home help).
A lighthearted but serious of the highs and lows of adapting to a new culture in a foreign city.
I thoroughly recommend it.

Great book to read aloud! Colorful whimsical illustrations and page layouts with juxtaposition of illustrations and white spacing makes an impact. Message about the importance of our sameness and our individuality is clear. Fun to read aloud to little ones and to read together with early learners.
