This was a very enjoyable read, the first in a series based around the life of a small town Northern Irish police officer set back in the 1960s. The investigation of a murder, coping with life and a young daughter, the petty doings of hooligans and the machinations of the well-to-do and powerful. The sergeant has his own way of working with and against situations.
Recommended.
