I picked this book up from the bookstore at Snee Farm (a Pinckney residence) north of Charleston, South Carolina. It's an interesting biography of Charles Pinckney, a prominent businessman, planter, and politician in South Carolina during the colonial days.

The story is very well told and the ups and downs of Pinckney's life are truly amazing. His prominent role in helping to found the United States is overlooked by most historians. While I was quite aware of the Pinckney name and it's stature in Charleston, it is amazing the impact Charles Pinckney had on the founding of the United States. It's more amazing that he's relatively unknown and unmentioned in the history books.… (más)
