For many years Javier Martinez has been researching Okinawan traditional katas, More interested in the application of the movements rather than the form itself, he decided to publish some of his discoveries. They constitute the basics of the secret art of Tuite. Once reserved for the high ranking military officers, bodyguards of the emperor, these techniques offer a unique view and understanding of this highly advanced art of self defense.

This book is amazing. Lots of diagrams, a little hard to follow, but absolutely amazing when understood.

Martinez goes over Isshinryu Kusanku Kata which is similar to that of Matsubayashi Ryu. What is of interest is his application of Bunkai, using mainly Chin Na or Okinawan Te locks. He has no historical proof for his interpreation, but I do not feel that it is important. Dispite the typos in the book, it is a very good addition to any martial artist library.
