Dee Mann

This book had its moments, I guess, but it was so completely predictable and melodramatic. The characters were not believable, their personalities were very two-dimensional, they delivered pages of unrealistic monologues, and lengthy interior monologues were used in substitution of what could have been portrayed so much more fulfillingly through speech and action. It felt very cheap.

The fact that the first half of the book consisted almost entirely of Paul and Jillian's first date also irritated me a lot - especially considering the time they spend together in the remainder of the book is so spread out. It feels like they're falling apart rather than coming together, which is what the book is all about.

Paul contemplates a horrendous action towards the end that completely ruined his character for me. I lost all respect for him, which deadened the story's resolution for me. I really hated everything he did after that no matter how sweet because I felt like he was just full shit by that point.

I couldn't even enjoy the other characters' endings because they were so briefly touched upon instead of incorporated into the story. They were just kind of tacked on, and they were all so fluffy and unrealistically happy.

If for some absurd reason you purchase this book, it's better used as a paper weight. Or fire kindling.… (más)
