A creative and original approach to making your meals vegetable forward. This book will challenge how you think of cooking and eating no matter if you are eating for health, the planet, or personal ethics. Not to mention you with rock the break room with creative and delicious leftovers and stories of how this actually vegan muffins!

This is not all vegan meals, there's are vegetarian dishes that do use honey and eggs like the delightful Carrot Fritters and, because my family has not given up meat completely, just a way of bringing more veg into our diets and helping make meatless meals something we all look forward to.

Written in a friendly voice that supported my move to using more veg, this cookbook is supported with many wonderful color pictures, on page marginal notes to help you out, and side notes and information on how flexible and and seasonal recipes can be, this is a cookbook that has made a true carnivore family eat vegan muffins, cauliflower tacos, and Sesame Peanut Noodles and come back for more!

I'm still not sure how to rate a cookbook. It's not the sort of thing one reads cover-to-cover as one does a novel. But I have thumbed through most of this informative (and rather pretty) book, used several of its "butchering" methods, and tested a handful of recipes. Everything turned out great.

Great compendium featuring many well and lesser known vegetables and how to prepare them all.

Some of the vegetables receive a little more love from the author, and I did want more recipes, but overall the ingredients were treated respectfully and the recipes appealing. Also included were instructions on how to cut each vegetable in several different ways, which I think is quite useful for every cook to know.

This would be a great gift for people who are trying to broaden their cooking skills, or those seeking to increase the amount of vegetables that they prepare and consume.

I picked this book up at the library and was impressed enough with it that I bought it. I am not a vegetarian or plan to be but I am pretty clear on the benefits of vegetables. This book is nicely laid out to takes one through the wide variety of choices out there in alphabetical order.

Cara gives nice descriptions of each and how to cut and prepare them for cooking or other methods for dishes. The photos are informative and well produced to lead you through the process. Simple enough recipes are also provided that make the book complete for anyone, including the cooking challenged like myself to handle with ease.… (más)
