The story is a standard crime book, looking at a case from start to finish. There are theories, warrants, interrogations, and information fed through bit by bit. There are also secrets that reveal those who know the truth are not safe. The book includes a lot of extra information that are irrelevant to the story, but they give readers a deeper insight into who Ellis is as a character.

My thanks to the Author publisher's and NetGalley for providing me with a Kindle version of this book to read and honestly review.
A very well written Police procedural clever descriptive intelligent storytelling with plenty of surprises and twists along the way. Totally engaging from first to last page a taut tense thrilling read. This is the second book in the series and while there are a few references to the first book, it in no way stops you reading this book as a standalone story. Rebecca Ellis our lead detective is brave feisty smart and I look forward to reading more books in the series.
Completely recommended.

Quality Police procedural with superb characterisation throughout clever descriptive intelligent murder mystery with plenty of surprises and twists along the way. Just when I thought I knew whodunit and why, BAM twist wrong again. Would the crimes come together or more than one culprit read this excellent book and find out. I am already looking forward to book two.
Completely and utterly recommended.
