I really wanted to like this book. I kept picking it up and reading a section and then putting it back down because nothing in what I was readng spoke to me. I have a feeling that it all depends on where you are in your journey. I had the priviledge to study with both John and Caitlin Matthews so maybe whatever itch this book scatches for others, is something I no longer feel the need for. This isn't a critique on the worthiness of the book. Just a suggestion about who the right readership might be.… (más)
This book got me back into the habit of having devotional time each morning. Now that the weather is fine, I meditate and study for an hour each morning on my front porch. The Mist-Filled Path is a good introduction to Celtic tradition. Being of Celtic heritage and having been reared on a farm close to nature and the elements, I was able to relate to this book. It touched my soul.
An altogether excellent book. The Celtic Way of Seeing is a guide to the traditional directional spirituality of the ancient Irish celts. I've read about it in other Celtic Reconstructionist texts, but with this book I finally UNDERSTAND it, and can relate it into my life and incorporate it into my spiritual practice. I enjoy Frank MacEowen's style from other books, and found this one as well to be very readable.
