Melissa Lummis

Eek! If you haven’t read the first book in the series, avert your eyes, and read it. Many times, I read out of order but I highly suggest you don’t. For one, you’ll miss one heck of a story and two, you might find yourself doing a lot of head scratching. This is perhaps one of the most unique worlds I’ve had the pleasure to visit (in my head, of course), but the foundation for both this reality and the characters begins in the first book.
Wrapping myself into Melissa Lummis’ world came rather easy. Her character’s are loveable and relatable even the not so nice ones. In this second installment, we continue with Loti and Wolf, Katie and Rachel, but in addition, there was Heather and Christian. All three are tied together, but each story ran separate until the end. It was mind boggling and blowing, but executed well enough to follow.
Samskaras truly is the perfect title even though i had no idea what it meant until the end. Loti’s a Light Walker, and as the story progresses, so do her powers. Her and Wolf grow closer everyday and their union keeps changing them. Sometimes it’s a physical manifestation within Wolf, most times it’s a new power for Loti to contend with. Through her self-discovery, both she and Wolf are trying to track down and stop Modore.
Katie and Rachel are trying to heal after losing Patrick. They understand his betrayal, but they keep wondering if they could have stopped him, saved him, or even helped him to break the bond with Modore. With the investigation closed, they try to rebuild, and seek out a new member.

Heather and Christian were unique. I felt for her, and even though he could be a selfish prat, I understood his struggles between doing what he was commanded and his love. This story is powerful, and I can’t wait to read what happens next. It’s practically killing me to know what happens, but I really want each reader to experience this relationship for themselves. The pain … and the love, you feel it as this bonded couple struggles.
I loved the ending … LOVED. Melissa Lummis better hurry up and write the next one. I was blown away … out of the water … you get the point.

This series is for those who love PNR, steamy, fanning PNR.
