From 193to 1943, about 185 refugees from Nazi-occupied Rurope found refuge at Scattergood, a boarding school in West Branch, Iowa, run by Friends...Founds of the hostel strove to rehabilitate and integrate refugees who came to it. This book describes the experience for the refugees.
