The Man With Absolute Motion is set far into the future where man has met & interacted with the larger space community, the 'metagalaxies' and the, for lack of a better term, space government, controls the metagalaxy and distribution of resources & knowledge. Earth has a problem - years of nurturing humans with genetic faults and not practicing survival of the fittest has lead to the population becoming riddled with mental disease. To the point that everyone is so neurotic that they are losing the ability to bear children and Earth's population faces extinction.
There's a comic almost hitchhikers guide to the galaxy-esque interaction with the metagalaxy government and it becomes known that the metagalaxy is facing a resource problem in terms of distribution - whilst the main resources exist, the fuel to transport them between galaxies is fast running out.
Along comes a gentleman named Erle Bertron who is capable of aligning himself with a source of cosmic power that proves itself to be a new power source than if harnessed could resolve the metagalaxies problems.
It's a good read, classic 1950s scifi, that has some adversity and a good ending.… (más)
