Coincidences litter our daily lives, mere happenstance we often disregard. But what if these coincidences carried deeper symbolic meaning - messages specifically imparted to guide our journeys?
In her insightful work ‘Symbol & Synchronicity: Learning the Soul’s Language in Dreams and Waking Life’, author Julie Loar compellingly posits that these events are far more than random occurrences. She has meticulously curated an excellent exploration into the profound symbolic language our souls speak through dreams and waking moments alike.
The book’s first six chapters transport readers on a richly informative tour spanning ancient Egyptian, Greek, Hawaiian mythologies, and many others. Loar’s concise yet comprehensive examination provides an illuminating gateway into mythological and religious elements many of us only skimmed in high school.
She then shifts her focus inward, delving into the intricate interplay between our unconscious and conscious minds through the lens of our psyches. At the core lies her fundamental premise - that our souls navigate an ongoing journey we must learn to decipher.
Loar dedicates a substantial portion to dream interpretation, an area where I admittedly harbour scepticism. While I don’t dismiss the notion that brilliant ideas can germinate from our dream lives, I struggle to fully embrace dreams as soul-level windows. My view is that they simply reflect our waking experiences, fears, and aspirations.
However, where this work truly shines is in Loar’s thoughtful, judgment-free presentation of her findings. For readers open to exploring symbolic resonance in their lives, her insights could prove profoundly enriching. Even sceptics may find value in simply considering new perspectives.
Ultimately, ‘Symbol & Synchronicity’ invites us to ponder the possibility that our lives hold deeper meaning - if we’re willing to learn the language in which it’s spoken.

The first thing that grabbed me was the book cover.
The Sphinx with a bright red sky and what seems a constellation.
The back cover incited me to purchase the book for when it mentions Giza and Atlantis on one sentence, I was hooked.
From Mexican pyramids to Egyptian sands, our heroine Alexandria embarks on a thrilling journey. Sparks fly with the enigmatic Erik, but his arrogance throws cold water on the flame.
Will love find its way through the cultural clashes?
Adding depth is Don Miguel, a trusted friend of her parents, weaving tales of forgotten connections between civilisations.
Author Julie Loar masterfully blends historical intrigue with a touch of romance, making "Messengers: Two with a Guide" a captivating read. She delves into the mysteries of Giza, weaving in Edgar Cayce's enigmatic "readings," offering a fresh perspective on ancient Egypt and its modern complexities.
Craving myths, puzzles, and a touch of romance?
This novel promises an unforgettable journey, unveiling a hidden world beyond imagination.
Prepare to be enthralled!
