A family buys apples at a farmers' market and makes applesauce together throughout the fall, noticing how the color and flavor of the sauce changes along with the different varieties of apples. Lots of apple info and a recipe!

This book is about a family and their tradition of making applesauce every year when apples are in season. The book walks through the process of the family buying, peeling, cooking, and finally eating the applesauce together. I would read this to a 3rd grade class (8 years old). I found this book at North Star Elementary school library.

This is the story of a family that has a tradition of making applesauce every year. The story is told by a young boy who goes through the stories and memories of making applesauce with his grandmother. The applesauce is not only a fun tradition but brings the whole family together for a large feast.

This book has a brief introduction and holds an index. What I like most about the intro is the author's discussion of the allure of YA Books to adults and vice versa. It is broken down into wordless books, picture books, early readers, middle readers and young adult books. Within each section the books are listed by alphabetical order by title. Each title has bibliographic information and a listing of honors the book has received if relevant. There is some artwork from books throughout this title.… (más)
