The Power Brain by Ilchi Lee held my complete interest the entire time I read the book. From the beautiful color scheme and formatting to the informative facts about brain structure and function, this unique book is a must-read. The book begins with an introduction, then goes on to explore the brain in vast detail. The information provided is scientific enough to educate the reader, but not difficult to understand at all. As the book moves on, the author explores how other organs work in conjunction with the brain, what good habits you should develop as far as eating, exercise, sleep, and meditation, and how to stay positive overall. There are so many exercises included in the book, and these exercises include illustrations as a guide for the reader. They were not difficult to follow and were part of what makes the book so fun, educational, and unique.

In reading The Power Brain, I was not only intrigued by the subject matter and the fact that so much information was given about the brain, but also enlightened by the spiritual connections included. Author Ilchi Lee focuses on the scientific while including so much of what makes this study important—the spiritual basis and the importance of positivity. The reader will learn what the brain looks like, but they will also learn how important it is to smile. They will practice breathing exercises, learn physical exercises to strengthen the mind, play brain games, and even learn how to find their own core values. The author emphasizes the importance of positive thinking, even in bad situations, and includes specific exercises to let go of the past. I highly recommend the book to anyone interested in this study, or anyone who wants to use their brain to its highest potential.

This is a truly great message to people of all ages. Mr. Lee has provided inspiring, considerate, and warm-hearted statements of how to consider our longevity as people. His sincerity with soft-spoken, simple terms allows readers to stay attuned to thoroughly enjoy his writing.

Ideas of community are most celebrated when they bring all people together to better our existence, the earth's existence and future generations. His examples of personal and professional experiences provide stable ground for people to easily and swiftly understand the importance of promoting longevity.

If he continues to define and create culture based upon improving longevity in communities, he will most certainly complete a vital facet of cultivation. And his commitment to helping others will transcend to other people's acceptance of cultivating a more beneficial lifestyle.

He has given people a direction on a pathway that cannot be avoided.

I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

There is no expert for human experience. Each of us is the specialist of our own lives.

In the name of comfort and security, we have created increasingly complex systems that demand our ives for their maintenance. Systems cannot answer life's most important questons-only you can. The ultimate goal of education, institutions, and expertise should be self-educaton. Only then will technology serve humanity rather than reign over us. Human technology contains the principles and tools that can return us to self-mastery and the life well lived.

'The assertion of this text is that every human being is created to be totally self-sufficient, self-healing, and self-sustaining-and completely capable of total self-realization in a single lifetime. We have much to remember of our basic and instinctual awareness of what it is to be fully and functionally human, and I am grateful to Ilchi Lee for stepping into this void and providing us with a menu of possibilities many of us have never explored.'-Neale Donald Walsch

Ilchi Lee has dedicated his life to health and peace education. In 1980 Lee undertook an intensive twenty-one-day meditation on Mount Moak in South Korea, which culminated in his spiritual awakening to a philsophy of enlightened action. Lee is the founder of Dahnhak and Brain Respiration, integrative mind-body training programs. He is also the founder of the Healing Society and Earth Human Movements. Lee has authored twenty-eight books, including Healing Society, The Twelve Enlightenments for Healing Society, and Brain Respiration.

He feels we should be in charge of our own health and not rely on doctors. The book disclaims whether the techniques in it work or not, but claims to just be presenting them for whatever they are worth. (p 11). That didn't give me any confidence in the book.

The message of this book is simple: if we all considered ourselves 'Earth Citizens' above any other markers of identity the world would be a better place. A simple and undoubtedly noble message, of course, but Lee's treatment of it is altogether disappointing: his philosophy is naïve and unnecessarily mystical, his manifesto is pretentiously jargonistic and unconvincing, and his few solid ideas have been stretched so far across the 68 pages that the work as a whole is ultimately vacuous (serving primarily, I suspect, as a justification for the soliciting of donations in the appendix). The basic idea is good, but everything has already been said by the end of the introduction.

This book looks at an extremely simple way to access the physical and mental healing power that already exists within the human brain. The claim is that this can help to better manage stress, find your higher self and rediscover physical vitality.

The physical world is full of vibrations. Sound waves are vibrations, it could be said that light waves are a form of vibrations, and brain waves are also vibrations. "Stress" is a major cause of physical and mental illness in our present-day world. Perhaps a cause of stress is our brains being somehow out of alignment with the natural level of vibrations. If our brains could be "re-aligned," the possibilities are interesting.

Have you ever been in a good mood, and have that mood suddenly disappear in the presence of a sullen, angry person? Alternatively, have you ever been in a bad mood, and the presence of a happy and optimistic person makes that bad mood not so bad? Maybe it’s possible to be "sensitive" to the brain waves of others, or to have strong brain waves that can affect other people.

What is this very simple method to change one’s life, a method that can be taught in a couple of minutes, and can fit on one piece of paper? It is rhythmic vibratory shaking of the head, or the whole body (the book goes into detail). This will create brain waves that will promote mental and physical well-being. The brain stem is the healing center of the brain. If it can be accessed the right way, lots of good things can happen. This can also quiet the constant noise of the prefrontal cortex, which is the thinking part of the brain, letting the brain stem do its thing.

The average person may consider this way too simple, and more than a little silly, but what have you go to lose? This technique takes only a couple of minutes at a time and can be done anywhere, including at your desk (any way to reduce workplace stress is automatically a good thing). This book is very easy to read, and it may be just the thing to change your life.
