I love the textured paper this book is preinted on

It's a cookbook and its a story book. Found it at a garage sale or something. I love the drawings, and the stories are good, but not sure how many of the recipes I would use.

Most dishes are defined by the folk tale that features or describes the dish. Clear print. Ingredients are not too hard to find. Also describes things that are no longer found, even in China. Definitely ESL in some of the charming use of phrases. Read while in the 'right' storytelling mood.

Good background on why items are used, history, culture. Recipes are 'guideline' style, not specific measures
