Excellent recipes intertwined with educational snippets about the ingredients, dishes, techniques, and culture involved. The traditional Korean recipes are adapted to the average American kitchen, with notes for those with access to either a Korean market or a general Asian grocery in mind to return it to more authentic flavors. Particularly helpful for me as someone who knows some Korean was the additional inclusion of the proper Korean names not only of dishes but of ingredients as well.

Wonderful stories and tasty recipes. A perfect mix. The author share her life growing up Korean in an America. There are stories of her parents and grandparents. She tells of her lunches and family meals and how much she appreciates it all now. I actually sat and read the book like a novel.

Really good cookbook for Korean food - easy to follow and the recipes are with stuff easy to find without having to have an Asian market near you.

This is a cookbook/storybook - Cecilia share stories on her recipes and her family throughout the book and even adds pictures with the stories. The recipes are simple, not many picture of the food but easy to do recipes. I suggest this for a beginner trying to cook Korean food for the first time. Read the stories a little bit which help to understand how to perfect Korean cooking.
