My parents bought these from a door-to-door salesman. I remember the meeting in our living room. My dad invited each of us to ask the salesman questions.
It was the best educational purchase they ever made. Any time a question came up, my dad’s response was “ Look it up.” We did, and reported back to him. At the end of most articles was a further reference pointing to related articles. You could browse for hours.
They are handsome volumes with deeply embossed covers, rice paper thin pages, and enough illustrations to satisfy.
When daughter was in high school, her social studies teacher assigned 30 bonus questions each month. We had just got our first computer and the internet was new. We would race to see who could find the answer faster - her online or me with this set.… (más)
