Walter Klenhard

Bland and bloodless, made for TV effort that sees a couple of California yuppies - Susan (Ally Sheedy) and Mark Enright (William R. Moses) - purchasing a 19th century, coastal mansion after the violent and unexpected death of the previous owner. The pair are trying to repair their marriage following Mark's recent infidelity and the setting up if a B&B in the mansion appears to be their way of going about it. At first things seem to go well, but soon there are any number of odd occurrences around the house and things take a very peculiar turn when their first guest Sara, (Lucinda Weist) arrives. The story by director Walter Klenhard (along with Tom Walla) is fairly routine stuff about past misdeeds in the mansion and a ghost seeking revenge or vindication - it's not all that clear. The story, like Klenhard's direction, is bland and full of rather obvious soap opera dynamics about Mark trying to win back his wife's trust. There are are no scares and very little atmosphere, even the ghosts have very little about them that could be vaguely described as disquieting. The acting is pretty low-grade: Ally Sheedy plays Susan are a spoiled brat and William R. Moses is pretty wet for a leading man. Overall a flat, boring ghost yarn without a shred of atmosphere or a hint of scares.… (más)
