A Thriller Mystery that kept a hold of me. Retired Judge August Jorgenson is reluctantly lured out of retirement to argue a Death Penalty case before the supreme court by a host of a television show "Trial by Jury" that is fighting against the Death Penalty. The case is of an autistic mute inmate found guilty of raping and murdering a little 10 year old 15 years ago. The judge has always fought against the death penalty during his term on the bench especially for the mentally challenged inmates being put to death. After accepting the role to argue the case he starts his own investigation, goes to meet the young man Boyd Davies. He is considered retarded by most but he has an artistic talent to draw with exquisite detail. Using a drawing of the day the little girl was murdered the Judge realizes something isn't quite right and continues his investigation Without the blessing of the tv show hosts; What he doesn't realize is, they aren't really fighting for the same thing. This information, may very well end his chances of arguing the case. Great Story!… (más)

It was okay.....a little too quick of a wrap up and didn't actually really like the ending. But, the mystery part was handled pretty well.

It was Dean Abernathy’s time to get a case from the Assigned Counsel Office and he accepted it. We know that Joey didn’t kill the chief and realize he is being framed. It takes Abernathy a while to discover and figure out what to do. Very little of the action takes place in the court room but it interesting and suspenseful to see how Abernathy works. I like this character, and am sorry that there isn’t a sequel.… (más)
