A submarine is shrunk and sent inside someone.
I'm quite surprised that this wasn't crap. Even though it's often silly and has a fair amount of bad science, it reminds me a lot of A Space Odyssey. It has that slow, deliberate pacing (especially during the shrinking sequence), and usually seems more interested with science fiction ideas and visual spectacle than with plot and characters.

Near classic SF, imaginative special effects, great story. (Spoiler Alert) My gripe is that the bad guy of the movie is more or less obvious from the beginning, and the ending is preposterous even with suspended disbelief--they have to get out so they don't grow and kill the guy they're in, but they leave the whole ship behind?
