I hadn't realized until the book was in my hand to read that it is the final volume of the series. As such, the creator goes all in on all tropes all the time: mistaken identity, jealous brother, maid cafe, Valentine's Day chocolate, love confessions, yukata, festival fireworks, a time-jumped epilogue, and -- because manga just doesn't know when to stop -- an out-of-nowhere age-gap romance.

Since I like the characters, the cliches go down smoothly. And since the series had lost momentum when Furi-san stopped being scary to anyone a little while back, I'm okay with wrapping it up before I had to decide to drop it.

Too bad it didn't live up to the potential of the first volume, but it is still a good series if you just want a little innocent romance in your life.… (más)

Contrary to the title, Furi-san is no longer scary to anyone, and without that edge the series has devolved into a sweet little slice of life romance that is simply biding its time until the inevitable happens.

It's still nice, but the magic is gone, and it's in danger of becoming too ordinary.

It doesn't help that the resolution of last volume's cliffhanger was a complete dud, fizzling out with no effect whatsoever. And this one ends with simple warm fuzzies rather than any sort of drama or excitement.… (más)
