Violet T. Kimball

This is the story of the Oregon trail, told through the eyes of the children who traveled it. Each chapter covers a topic, like "Daily Life on the Trail". It describes what this was like for the children, and includes excepts from diaries and letters written by the children at the time, or memoirs written much later.

While the premise is good, I just could not get interested in the book. It seemed. . . boring. Reading a few annotated diaries would probably give a better feel for the experience. I read two chapters and decided to go on to something else.… (más)
