I adored this book! I chose it because I thought it would be fun to read a cozy mystery with a fairy involved. I love fairies. Happily I was right. This charming book was highly entertaining for me. I like Kate and Emily. They work well as friends, neighbors and sleuths. My favorite character, though, was Minette, the fairy. They mystery was well done. It actually involved an earlier unsolved case with a new case. I was kept guessing! I’m looking forward to reading more in this series.
I want a house fairy now!

The Witch Tree
(Anna Denning Mystery #1)
by Karin Kaufman
It's taken me a few days to finish this because it is so...YAWN! I just couldn't force myself to finish it in one sitting, I have enough stress. This has a gal, Anna, that is a genealogist, and all around push-your-beliefs-on-everyone attitude. She has a rescue dog that is told to you about fifty times. She hates witches and the author makes witches the scourge of the Earth. Evil incarnate. Not much plot but boy do we know about evil witches and her rescue dog!
I thought this was going to be a paranormal book but boy was I surprised when I found it to be a radical Christian book that was poorly written. No more of this author for me!

Beautiful storytelling

Extremely well written, sweet and old-fashioned in the very best of ways, this story reminded me of classics like Pooh in his Hundred Acre Woods, or the children's TV series, Little Bear. Like those stories, this story is not just for youngsters but would interest children of all ages. I could really picture it as an animated film too! A charming autumn and winter adventure.

Oh My Gosh. Where to start. I received this book in exchange for my honest review, and little did I know how completely I would fall in love with these adventures. I often love many of the books I read, but every now and then a certain book or series will kindle a little fire in my soul with its delicious wonderfulness. The Adventures of Geraldine Woolkins is such a book. I loved the characters. I cherished the descriptions Miss Kaufman used to describe places and things. Words that, although not what humans would say, left you knowing exactly what the animals were referring to. But most of all, I love how Miss Kaufman delicately and effortlessly wove the message of faith into each chapter. He description of God as Very Big Hands is a beautiful image and one I will think of often. Since my review copy was an e-version, I without a doubt will be purchasing a hard copy to hold in my hands and read over and over. It is my sincerest wish that further adventures will be forthcoming in the near future. Rock on Miss Kaufman; you have been blessed with an extraordinary writing talent!… (más)
