This book is a very, very important background to the meltdown of 2008. The tables are especially valuable including amounts of campaign contriutions from the failing industry to Congressmen and a chronological table beginning in the early 1930s demonstrating how the industry was systematically deregulated. It ends at the beginning of the administration of Bush I, as things were beginning to be worked out by the federal government.
