Some good lines, lots of snark and a different view of baseball. Lots of anecdotes - in fact all of it is basically anecdotes, and more than a bit unbelievable. It's an OK read, but I wouldn't trust it as a reference on the history of the game.

Being the memoirs of a much-travelled umpire, with a heavy emphasis on one-liners. It is genuine and a fun, quick read.

Once I started thinking of this book as a transcription of a guy in a bar BSing about his life, I really enjoyed it. Don't look for facts or deep insight, just enjoy the tall tales Ken tells.
