Slightly clunky, but a little naive, but generally reads well. Obviously pushes my buttons :P

I really enjoyed this book. I was half way through when I learned there is going to be second book coming eventually. I really try not to read books that I have to wait for the sequel. The characters and scenes are well thought out and crafted. There are only hints that a couple of the characters may be gay but, nothing physically happens. Maybe in the second book which, I hope will be out soon. Authors need to include in the jacket cover that a book will have a sequel. I hate reading a book that doesn't have a completion and leaves you hanging...possibly for a year or more. So, I recommend the book with the suggestion you wait until the sequel comes out.… (más)

This is an amazing epic tale that spans three volumes. It is a rare mix of genres weaving together fantasy with history, the paranormal with the everyday, science with religion... and a romance that reshapes the future.

I was engaged and captivated and it made me think about concepts I havent considered since my idealistic days in college when I thought I could change the world.

Maybe, just maybe its possible. As Sue DeGault, my favorite character said... we all have a note to sing, and together we fashion a song.

Highly recommend.

SoulFire and Tears is book III of the Disciples of Goedric Trilogy, and the first thing i will admit is that while I almost always (as most of us do) have a pretty good idea about the ending of an epic fantassy fiction tale, this time the twist slipped right by me -- even tnough it was right in front of my face. Hats off to the author.

When i got half way throught the second book (Guardians of the Blood) I found my self wondering a little how several seemingly unrelated facts and subplots were going to be resolved. Shows you what I know!

Without saying too much, sufice it to say that sometimes our own preconceived notions of how things work severely limit our abilities to see the big picture--and a a big picture is exactly what the author paints as SoulFire and Tears reveals and inspires.

This book and the entire series for that matter is more than recommended to anyone looking to be entertained as well as intellectually engaged.

If you are looking for mindless pulp romance, I suppose you could skip sections here and there and be satisfied. But to be honest it wasnt written that type of audience... in my opinion.

If you happen to be gay or lesbian or the parents or close friends of gay men or lesbian women, I am almost sure that The Disciples of Goedric will speak to you in a way that you havent anticipated. It did to me. As the trilogy closed, I actually felt like i knew more about myself than I did before i did before having read it.

As with the other two books of this trilogy... five stars. And I hope there are more titles in the works with these same characters. I will be the first to read them!
